  • Open channels of communications are maintained.
  • Contacts with outside sources are encouraged.
  • Nonspecialists are assigned to problems.
  • Ideas are evaluated on their merits rather than on the status of their originator.
  • Management encourages experiments with new ideas rather than making “rational” prejudgments.
  • Decentralization is practiced.
  • Much autonomy is allowed professional employees.
  • Management is tolerant of risk-taking.
  • The organization is not run tightly or rigidly.
  • Participative decision making is encouraged.
  • Employees have fun.
